I am a professional engineer by background and a former Chartered Member of Engineers Australia. I have worked as a design engineer, and I have spent a lot of time in the Mining and Oil & Gas industries. I worked in the design office for Rio Tinto and Fluor and I have worked on-site and offshore at Alcoa, Woodside (Offshore Exploration), Pertamina (Indonesia) and many others. This gave me valuable insights on how sophisticated companies operate, and what it takes to get their attention.

Following a career change, I found myself heading up sales and marketing groups for some of the world’s most successful technology companies (including Cisco Systems in Australia, London, Johannesburg and Singapore). Go figure!

These careers don’t normally go together, so I think I am uniquely placed to understand the business challenges that are faced by professional engineers and consultancies, when selling to large organisations.
